Outstanding large aperture Newtonian telescope for serious convenient observing
A great telescope for serious deep-sky observing without the fuss of setting up an equatorial mount. The optics and coatings are far superior to cheaper models you may encounter elsewhere. This Newtonian telescope has a "paraboloidal" pyrex primary mirror to eliminate spherical aberration and a 4-vein secondary- mirror bracket with fine supports (0.5mm thick), to reduce diffraction spikes and light loss. In addition, it includes a 2-inch Crayford focuser with a 1.25" adapter, allowing the use of either eyepiece size.
The tube is all-steel fabrication, fully undercoated for long life. The primary mirror feature an easy collimation spot marker.

Mount is fitted with adjustable TENSION CONTROL HANDLE for correct balance of the optical tube with special designed handles on the base. The design adds enough friction and tension to allow the tube to move easily when nudged but to stay in position when not. Users can easily add or reduce tension by turning on the handle. This feature solves the common balance problem found on many Dobsonians.
The Sky-Watcher 10" Dobsonian features a primary mirror made of Pyrex glass. Because of its very low thermal expansion coefficient, Pyrex glass is less affected by changing temperatures. This greatly reduces the cooling time of a telescope larger than 8" in diameter without using an extra fan. The great stability of this low expansion glass ensures high quality images. It is also substantially more resistant to scratching then plate glass. So no need for a fan like other models around.
